DNA DOLL -
“DNA Doll are a 'proper' rock band, not a wall of noise visceral thing, not a bloated shadow of some former greatness, not some indie-schmindie watered down can't play but we'll make do until something better comes along kind of band - DNA Doll are a real band with all the baggage you need to go with it...." |

| A
band with all the energy of early Manics and the craft of Mansun - DNA
DOLL arrived on the London scene in late 2000, their debut single on ORG
enjoyed lots of attention from Radio One and XFM, that and lots of cool
Organ shows with more established bands like Sack Trick, Cheese Cake Truck
and Remote Control introduced the band in the perfect way - here's an early
gig review we wrote right back at the start....
DNA DOLL
LIVE REVIEW FROM ORGAN - BULL&GATE, LONDON 26th OCTOBER 2000
Here we are in June 2001 - the band are launched and now they're doing things via their own label Marshmallow, taking a little too long to follow that debut single up but hang in there, they've got more than enough great songs, let's hope they don't mess the great start up... we await 14th JULY 2002, WE STILL AWAIT - the line up changed, we keep hearing talk of a second single and an album, they've been playing shows in the USA... There's something going on 9th OCTOBER 2002 - like a swan, it looks likes nothing much is going on as it glides gracefully along but underneath the water line where you can't see, the DNA DOLL is swimming away, legs and flippers and all kinds of things worknig overtime.... the second phase of DNA DOLL is almost here, and judging by the gig we witnessed the other day, it's even better than ever.... news of the new single any second now (so their management say) DNA doll are now Alrick Guyler - Drums, Backing Vocals and Sampledelics... Marc Eden - Voice, Guitar... Kitty Brooks - Bass. "Discovered in London, Marc Eden, the irresponsibly passionate born superstar, was put in touch with Alrick Guyler, a shy vegetarian drummer found practicing in an ex-meat refrigerator. Months later, the immaculate conception of DNA Doll it it's embryonic format was born... September 2001 saw the addition of Kitty Brooke joining the line-up on bass, after several ex-band members self-destructed into oblivion. The line-up was complete, the sound with its fusion of full on rock mixed with intricate beats and a translucent shimmer of electroinica" 18th APRIL 2004 - Last we heard they had gone to New York and were doing things with Slash and Marc was now fronting some new band Slash had called Velvet Revolver... guess that was that.... |
