BAND BIOG
Here's what we wrote in 2001

REMOTE CONTROL - London’s glorious glam-pop junk-rock experience, followed their three underground self-released singles with a debut album on ORG Records. Their beautifully titled debut album “EVIL RATS ON NO STAR LIVE” is out now.. Produced by Marco Pironni (Adam Ant guitarist) the album hit the streets of Europe on March 5th 2001. REMOTE CONTROL have completed three rather successful UK tours in the last year (playing alongside King Adora, Rachel Stamp, JJ72 and new label mates Twist), and built up a colourfully big following of disaffected painted-up teenagers who are bored by the current crop of Travis flavoured ‘serious rock’ dullards. Remote Control are there for the dysfunctional suburban kids who want to dress like superstars and get wasted. It’s a them and us situation once more…

The band were due to release thier album on another label, when if fell through we stepped in to help them rescue the project. They thanked us by spliting up almost as soon as the album came out... oh well, you'd think we'd have learn't not to put so much faith and trust in bands by now...

Now in 2004 Remote Control leader BEN is back with a band called ARIEL X

PRESS QUOTES AND SUCH
here's a review from the pages of Organ from just before we knew it was actually going to come out on ORG rather RemCo's own label...

REMOTE CONTROL"EVIL RATS ON NO STAR LIVE" MAD DISCS - Remote Control make gloriously big bright bold neon-pop, it's glam flavoured and it pouts with just the right amount of messed-up glitter around it's beautifully dysfunctional edges. Right now Remote Control are developing in to one of the finest live experiences you can have in the back streets of London town and it's mostly because they've tooled up with incredibly infectious songs with great big hooks and even bigger looks. Remote Control mix classic new wave pop suss with the kind of luscious gutter powered glam rock that rachel would sell her stamp collection and a lot lot more for. This timely debut album is produced in just the right slightly low budget oh-so-alive way by one Marco Pirroni (indeed yes, the Adam Ant guitarist/writer). Evil Rats is the soundtrack to your disaffected adolescence, it's about knowing the only answer is to dress up, get out and rise above the sound of that dead generation. Remote Control are your escape route, they're your Coldplay antidote, this is glam rock; this is your music, not theirs. The singles are all here, re-recorded though (for those who already know Remote Control, these are more restrained, less harsh versions). Actually this appears to be a bit of a glam rock (whisper it now, 'they' might be listening) concept album - it's mostly about escaping from the mundane of suburban family life in to the chaotic hedonism of the rock 'n roll dream (or something like that). 'Alien' is the finest Suede song for some time, 'Metal Machine' is The Sweet or the Rollers with an extra slice of sleaze, 'Starfucker' (they had to have a song called Starfucker didn't they!) is total PVC on it's hands and knees - elsewhere we have hints of Placebo giving head, Alice Cooper, King Adora with Vaseline, T-Rex, Ziggy Stardust, Rachel Stamp, Cheap Trick and even Sique Sique Sputnik in their intoxicating set of lustful strutting cheap sex, bright lights and subway squalls, @Velveteen' has the best sugar filled riff in a long long time. Eleven songs, eleven potential glam rock singles, here she comes now, she taking me over now - intoxication, it's your favourite recreation - Remote Control are your band, 'they' won't like it, that's why they're so good. Remote Control's debut album is everything those who knew about them were hoping for. The best forward looking glam rock album in ages and ages.
