REVIEW POLICY
The facts are simple - we
listen to everything that turns up. We only have the time and space and
inclination to tell you about/play/broadcast the very best - the things
that excite us, the things we want to share and really want you to make
the effort to check out, the things we want to shout our opinionated big
mouths off about. We can’t be here wasting time and cluttering up space
writing about the crap, the uninspired, the watered down conformists and
the many dreadfully dull things that we encounter (nor do we have time
for those who’s heads aren’t in the right place, it’s not always just about
the music). We’re here for the really exciting life-changing music, the
challenging rewarding bands who are doing it for the right reasons. Music
is better than ever if you make an effort to go out and find it. You have
to make the effort though...
WANT TO SEND SOMETHING TO
US?
Well that’s totally up to
you, you’re more than welcome to, but hey, we NEVER ask anyone to send
anything in, if you want to then that is YOUR choice. We don’t promise
anything to anyone other than the promise to listen/read/check out what
ever comes our way with an open mind. If we have something positive to
say then you’ll get some coverage on line or in print, if we don’t then
we pass it on. If it’s major mainstream label stuff and we don’t like it
then on to ebay or down the second hand record shop it goes, we got printing
bills to pay so keep the Hard-fi/Kaiser Chief/Funeral For A Friend junk
flowing and we’ll sell it off just as quickly as you send it - we love
ebay, we’re happy to be upfront and honest about it; what else are we supposed
to do with Bloodhound Gang CDs? If you don’t like that then we didn’t ask
you to send anything in the first place did we?
And yes, we do need advertising
to pay for the print version of ORGAN, but hey, nothing gets advertised
if we don’t feel positive about it and advertising does not buy you a good
review. You’re confusing us with the mainstream press when you ask us questions
like “Hey, if we take out an advert, do we get a good review?”
We cover the very best of the things we encounter every week here on the
ORGAN website at and then once a month you get the highlights from the
website (and quite a bit more) in printed form…. How much easier could
it be? Now watch out for that shark, grab hold of your throbbbing Organ......
HOW DO YOU GET ON ORGAN TV?
Well simple really, you jsut
need to send us a copy of your video if you think we'll like it. We just
need a simple viewing copy on DVD, or you can send us to where you have
it on line - My Space, You Tibe, Fastrax, wherever... Please do not send
e.mail files of your videos, it will jsut annoy us and have us hitting
delete buttons straight away. If we see a video we like and we want to
broadcast it on ORGAN TV then we'll chase you for a broadcast quality version
and blah blah blah
AND HEY YOU BANDS AND LABELS,
SUPPORT IS A TWO WAY THING - If we're playing your videos or featuring
you on the radio show or covering you on the website or in the magazine
or any of the other things we're doing, please don't take it all for granted
- we need support as well, it would be nice if you tell people, put links
and banners, tell people when we do cover you, tell them to watch the show
or listen to the radio show. kind of makes us want to do it some more when
you return the support, kind of makes us think there really is an alternative
to the soulless mainstream ways - are you with us? |

please
don't e.mail us your sound files or mail us asking us to go check out the
sound files on your own websites, 46 other bands have done it before you
already today, we haven't got time to check out any of them (we're already
chcking out all the other things - we got My Space running over there,
we got You Tube over here, we've got the CD plastic over on the left...)
You know what we're about if you think it's worth sending a cd/whatever
in then just do it.... you should be able to work out what we're in to...
and anyway mailing us unrequested MP3 things just pisses us off and makes
us think you're a total nugget
Ah look, if you've
got something you want to send us, just do it, get involved, contact and
switch the other - if it's good and you've got the right attitude
